Galatians 3:13: Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.

Why did Jesus have to hang and die on the cross, since Israel’s capital punishment during Jesus’ time was stoning and not crucifixion? Here the answer. Because the law said that, “He who is hanged is accursed of God” (Deuteronomy 21:23). Jesus needed to take the curse so we can receive the blessing. He wanted to redeem us from every curse of the law, so we can receive every blessing from the Spirit. He went to the cross, “having become a curse for us” so “we can become a blessing to others”. Jesus took all our curses at the cross, so that we can take all His blessings!

Jesus took what I deserved so I could get what He deserved. – Watchman Nee
