John 4:23-24 Jesus said, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”

God does not look for worship. He is looking for worshipers. He is not looking for music but for intimacy. That’s why God is raising up an army who will engage with Him to not only sing songs about Him, but to Him. Worship should be an expression of our intimacy with God through music, songs and other creative activities. It is about our relationship with Him expressed in various ways. He is not interested in what comes out of your mouth but in what comes out of your heart. Kris Vallotton once said, “When we are listening to the sound of a singer’s voice, God is listening to the sound of a singer’s heart”.

When I worship God I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without heart. – John Wimber
